TLDR Vitamin-E and aloe-vera nano-transfersomes may effectively treat psoriasis.
The study focused on developing and characterizing nano-transferosomes containing vitamin-E and aloe-vera for managing psoriasis, a dermal inflammatory disease. The formulation was evaluated for various parameters, including particle size, Zeta potential, drug entrapment, and in vitro drug release. The optimized nano-transfersomal vesicles had a mean size of 156.5 nm, a poly dispersity index of 0.462, a Zeta potential of -23.9 mV, and an entrapment efficiency of 52.18%. The formulation demonstrated prolonged drug release over 12 hours and effectively reduced itching in oxazolone-induced skin lesions in mice, indicating its potential as a sustainable, biodegradable, and biocompatible treatment for psoriasis.
