Formulation of Nano-Sized Dispersion from Calendula Officinalis: A Natural Gateway to Preparation of a Hair Dye

The study investigates the use of Calendula Officinalis extract to create a natural hair dye, focusing on reducing damage from synthetic dyes. By transforming the yellow pigment, Calendulin, into a nano-sized formula, the dye's penetration into hair fibers was enhanced. Nine formulations were tested, with the optimal formula, F7, identified through response surface modeling. F7, processed at 26000 rpm for 10 minutes, demonstrated effectiveness in dyeing white hair and lightening black hair, indicating its potential for covering white hair.
