TLDR Microneedling helps heal and rejuvenate skin and gums effectively.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique that creates microscopic wounds to stimulate healing and rejuvenation through biological processes. This review highlights its effects on inflammation, fibroblast activation, cytokine release modulation, neovascularization, and matrix metalloproteinases activity regulation, which aid in tissue remodeling and enhance skin regeneration. It is beneficial for wound healing, skin rejuvenation, and periodontal therapy. Technological advancements, such as targeted drug delivery and biologically active compounds, show promise for clinical use. Understanding these mechanisms can optimize treatment strategies, improving outcomes and reducing side effects.
