TLDR The combined Myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol treatment improved weight, hormone levels, and skin conditions in women with PCOS.
In a study conducted in 2019, 70 women diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) were treated with a combined therapy of Myo-inositol (MI) and D-chiro-inositol (DCI) in a 10:1 ratio for 6 months. The results showed significant reductions in body weight, free testosterone (fT), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and insulin levels. Additionally, there was a significant increase in serum sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) concentrations and a decrease in serum glucose levels during a standard oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) after 6 months of treatment. Skin conditions also improved after only three months of treatment. The study concluded that the combination of MI and DCI in a 10:1 ratio was effective in improving both metabolic and hormonal parameters in patients with PCOS.
