TLDR Lymphocytic mural folliculitis in cats might be an early sign of pancreatic cancer.
A 9-year-old castrated domestic shorthair cat presented with progressive non-pruritic alopecia, polyphagia, and weight loss was diagnosed with lymphocytic mural folliculitis and treated with prednisolone and ciclosporin, which improved the alopecia but did not resolve it. Sixteen months later, the cat showed intermittent vomiting and weight loss despite a normal appetite, and a mass involving the duodenum and pancreas was found, diagnosed as pancreatic carcinoma. This case suggested that lymphocytic mural folliculitis might be an early dermatological sign of pancreatic neoplasia.
