TLDR Lrig1 could be a marker for advanced sebaceous carcinoma.
The study investigated Lrig1 expression in 28 human sebaceous gland tumors and found significant overexpression in sebaceous carcinomas (100%), sebaceomas (80%), and sebaceous adenomas (43%), but not in sebaceous hyperplasias. This suggested that Lrig1 might play a role in tumor progression and could serve as a potential biomarker for poorly differentiated sebaceous carcinoma. The study also noted an inverse relationship between Lrig1 and CD44v3 expression and highlighted the need for further research due to the small sample size.
