TLDR Dutasteride safely promotes hair growth and reduces hair loss, with mild side effects.
This document summarizes several studies that investigated the long-term safety and efficacy of dutasteride in treating male patients with androgenetic alopecia. The studies found that dutasteride was generally well-tolerated and effective in promoting hair growth and reducing hair loss. The most common adverse events were sexual dysfunction-related, but they were generally mild and resolved within 6 months. The studies suggest that dutasteride is a safe and effective treatment option for male patients with androgenetic alopecia.
