TLDR Dutasteride is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss.
This document is a letter to the editor discussing the safety and efficacy of dutasteride and finasteride for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The authors argue that dutasteride, which has been approved for AGA in several countries, has shown superior efficacy to finasteride in treating AGA in a head-to-head Phase III study. They also note that the incidence of sexually-related adverse events (AEs) with dutasteride has been comparable to those reported with finasteride in clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance studies. The authors conclude that dutasteride is a safe and effective therapeutic option for AGA.
