TLDR A hidden autoimmune syndrome was found during a shock, showing thyroid, adrenal, and ovarian issues.
A case of latent polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type 2 (PAS-2) was diagnosed during an adrenal crisis, revealing thyroid, adrenal, and ovarian involvement. PAS-2 typically required the presence of Addison's disease along with autoimmune thyroid disease and/or type 1 diabetes mellitus, and could include comorbidities such as alopecia, vitiligo, and others. The study highlighted that latent PAS was more common than its manifest forms, challenging common beliefs about the syndrome's prevalence.
