TLDR A hidden autoimmune syndrome was found during a shock, showing thyroid, adrenal, and ovarian issues.
A case of latent polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type 2 (PAS-2) was diagnosed during an adrenal crisis. The patient exhibited thyroid, adrenal, and ovarian involvement at the time of diagnosis. PAS-2 typically requires the presence of Addison's disease along with autoimmune thyroid disease and/or type 1 diabetes mellitus, and may include comorbidities such as alopecia, vitiligo, and others. The case highlighted that latent PAS is more common than its manifest forms, prompting a discussion on PAS-2 and potential immunologic disorders.
