Effects of Jujuba Essential Oil on Hair Follicle of the Skin of Balb/c Mice

The study evaluated the effects of jujube seed oil on hair follicles in 40 male BALB/c mice. The mice were divided into five groups, with three groups receiving jujube oil at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%, while the other two served as control groups. After 24 days of treatment, the results showed that the mean number of hair follicles was significantly higher in the jujube oil-treated groups compared to the control groups. Additionally, there was an increase in the number of hair papilla, fibroblast cells, and collagen fibers in the treatment groups. The study concluded that jujube essential oil had positive effects on hair growth, suggesting its potential use in clinical trials for hair loss.
