TLDR IFHUT shows better hair growth than FUE, but needs improvements in positioning, speed, and accuracy.
The Instant Follicular Hair Unit Transplantation (IFHUT) technique involves extracting hair follicles one by one from the safe donor area and implanting them immediately after extraction. A study compared IFHUT to the conventional follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedure in 10 patients with androgenetic alopecia and found that IFHUT had significantly better growth in 9 patients. The study suggests that IFHUT may be a promising technique for hair transplantation in androgenetic alopecia. However, challenges such as positioning of the patient and surgical team, slow speed, and accuracy of placement still need to be addressed.
