TLDR The study found potential new DNA patterns in fertility genes, but further testing is needed.
The study conducted an in silico analysis of the promoter regions of 13 human fertility-related genes, identifying several novel cis-regulatory motifs and CpG islands that suggest potential regulatory elements influencing gene expression. The most recurrent motifs, STREME-2 and STREME-4, did not significantly match known transcription factor models, indicating unique regulatory patterns. CpG islands were identified in the promoters of genes such as FOXL2, AR, PGR, and ESR1, suggesting possible epigenetic regulation. These findings provide a framework for understanding the regulatory architecture of fertility-related genes, but require experimental validation as no experimental or patient-derived data were included.
