TLDR Adding PRP to hair transplants improves results and recovery for patients with scarring hair loss.
A prospective randomized-controlled study involving 15 patients aged 25-60 with cicatricial alopecia demonstrated that adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to follicular unit extraction hair transplantation significantly improves outcomes. The use of PRP resulted in better functional and esthetic results, including faster recovery times and increased hair density. This suggests that PRP therapy is beneficial in enhancing the effectiveness of hair transplantation in patients with postcicatricial alopecia.
