TLDR Preparing scars with PRP or CO₂ laser improves hair transplant success.
This study investigated the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and carbon dioxide laser therapy in preparing scar tissue for hair transplantation in patients with cicatricial alopecia. Conducted on 60 Egyptian patients aged 12 to 35, the study divided participants into two groups: one receiving PRP and the other undergoing CO₂ fractional laser treatment before hair transplantation using the FUE technique. Results showed significant improvements in transplantation outcomes for both methods, highlighting the importance of scar preparation in enhancing the success of hair transplants.
