TLDR The BASP classification helps predict patient behavior and improve treatment for hair loss.
This study investigated the relationship between illness behavior and hair loss patterns using the Basic and Specific (BASP) classification in patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). A total of 339 patients were analyzed, revealing a positive correlation between the severity of hair loss and good illness behavior, such as willingness for treatment and obtaining hair loss knowledge from medical sources. The study concluded that the BASP classification could help physicians predict a patient's illness behavior and establish effective treatment strategies, emphasizing the importance of a mutual doctor-patient relationship in managing AGA.
