TLDR A 3-month treatment improved PCOS symptoms and reduced certain immune proteins.
This study on 35 women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) aged 18-40 years demonstrated that a 3-month treatment involving dietary changes, oral contraceptives, fertility drugs, and sugar-reducing medications led to significant improvements in clinical symptoms such as ovulation and menstrual disorders, obesity, hirsutism, and acne. The treatment also resulted in a significant decrease in body mass index (BMI) from 28.09 to 26.40. Additionally, immune factors like Heat Shock Protein 70 and Interleukin-17 showed significant reductions, indicating a positive correlation between these proteins and the treatment's effectiveness. The findings suggest that this treatment plan could be effective in managing PCOS symptoms and related immune responses.
