Utility of Homeopathic Drug Phosphorus in Management of Alopecia Areata: An Evidence-Based Case Report

    Ambala Sriharitha, Silvia Sunderraj
TLDR Phosphorus may help treat alopecia areata.
The article presented a case report on the use of the homeopathic drug phosphorus in managing alopecia areata, a condition characterized by sudden, non-scarring hair loss that can progress from patchy to complete hair loss. Alopecia areata affected individuals of any age and had a lifetime risk of nearly 2% worldwide. It often co-occurred with psychiatric disorders and other autoimmune diseases, significantly impacting patients' psychological well-being and quality of life. The case report provided evidence for the potential effectiveness of phosphorus in treating this condition, although it was based on a single case, limiting the generalizability of the findings.
