TLDR Ayurvedic treatment led to complete hair regrowth in a patient with Alopecia Areata.
This case study examines the Ayurvedic treatment of a 21-year-old male with Alopecia Areata using Pracchana karma with a 0.5 mm derma-roller and Ayurvedic formulations. The patient, who had not improved with conventional treatments, achieved complete hair regrowth and a SALT-2 score reduction to 0% following the intervention. The treatment included the external application of Gunja-Kalihari lepa and internal Ayurvedic medications to purify blood, promote hair growth, and address dosha imbalances. The study indicates that Ayurvedic treatments may be effective for managing AA, but further randomized controlled trials are necessary to validate these results.
