TLDR Hairline transplants improve forehead appearance and satisfaction in East Asian women.
The study evaluated hairline transplantation in 60 East Asian women with high and wide foreheads, demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing mid-upper facial contours. Using FUE hair transplantation, the procedure focused on reducing frontal height and repositioning temporal peaks, resulting in high patient satisfaction with mean scores of 4.70 for facial contour improvement and 4.52 for hairline appearance. The average operative time was 7 hours, with 3243 follicular units used per patient. Post-surgery, the mid-frontal hairline was lowered by 1.33 cm, and the intertemporal distance reduced by 1.47 cm. Adverse events were minimal, with no severe complications. The study concludes that hairline transplantation is a safe and effective solution for aesthetic concerns in this population, though it calls for larger studies to confirm its applicability across diverse groups.
