TLDR Chamaecyparis obtusa oil promotes hair growth in mice.
The study evaluated the hair growth effects of Chamaecyparis obtusa oil (CO) in C57BL/6 mice by dividing them into three groups: saline (SA) as the normal group, 3% minoxidil (MXD) as the positive control, and 3% CO as the experimental group, with 15 mice in each group. The test solutions were applied topically for 4 weeks. Both the MXD and CO groups showed significantly higher hair growth compared to the SA group, as evidenced by increased hair follicle number and depth, dermal thickness, and decreased mast cell numbers. The results indicated that CO had a positive effect on hair growth in the mice.
