The Hair Growth Effect of Polygoni Multiflori Radix Water Extracts in C57BL/6 Mice

    The study investigated the effects of Polygoni mulitiflori Radix water extracts (PMWE) on hair growth and hair follicle development in C57BL/6 mice. Female mice were divided into four groups: normal (N), vehicle control (VC), positive control with 3% minoxidil (PC), and experimental with PMWE (E). Treatments were applied topically for 4 weeks. Both PMWE and minoxidil accelerated hair regrowth and promoted hair follicle development compared to the N and VC groups. The PC group showed significant changes in organ weights and blood parameters, indicating potential side effects. PMWE effectively stimulated hair growth and was considered safer than minoxidil.
