TLDR Beta vulgaris L. fruit extracts, especially ethanolic, effectively promote hair growth.
The study investigates the hair growth promotion activity of Beta vulgaris L. fruit extracts using albino mice divided into five groups, each with five mice. The extracts were obtained using solvents of increasing polarity, with methanolic and ethanolic extracts showing the highest phytochemical content. Results indicated that both extracts significantly promoted hair growth, with the ethanolic extract being more effective than the methanolic one. On days 14 and 21, the hair length and diameter in the test groups were notably greater than in the negative and untreated groups. The study suggests that the hair growth effect may be due to the extracts' antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, offering a potential treatment for baldness.
