TLDR The new follicular unit extraction treatment effectively treats severe hair loss in Asian men, giving natural-looking results with few side effects.
The study involved 36 Asian male patients with high-grade Androgenic Alopecia (AGA) who underwent a novel Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) megasession treatment. The average age of the patients was 36.8 years, and they had been suffering from the disease for an average of 8.3 years. Each operation required an average of 3705 grafts and took about 10.6 hours. Post-surgery, patients rated the naturalness of their hair at 4.72 and their satisfaction at 4.64 on the Likert scale. Doctors also rated the naturalness at 4.61 and their satisfaction with the procedure at 4.75. Only minor side effects were reported, with no serious ones. The study concluded that the FUE megasession with the new surgical design is an effective treatment for high-grade AGA in Asian males, providing a natural-looking density and appearance with minimal side effects.
