TLDR The FFA-QLI is a reliable tool for assessing quality of life in women with severe Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia.
The study developed and validated the Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia Quality of Life Index (FFA-QLI), a questionnaire specifically designed to assess the quality of life in women with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (FFA). Involving 101 women with FFA and 40 healthy controls, the FFA-QLI showed high reliability and validity, outperforming the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) in identifying severe cases of FFA, particularly in patients with long-lasting alopecia and eyebrow alopecia. The study highlighted the FFA-QLI's greater discriminative power in assessing quality of life impacts compared to traditional tools, although it was less effective in distinguishing patients with facial papules.
