TLDR New method measures minoxidil concentration faster, more accurately, and automatically.
This document presents a new method for measuring the concentration of minoxidil, a drug used for hair growth and hypertension, using an integrated flow injection-solid phase spectrophotometric approach. The method provides high sensitivities and is more selective than other UV-Vis detectors commonly used in flow injection analysis. The study found that Sephadex SP-C25 was the best resin for this purpose, and the method was successfully applied to the determination of minoxidil in several commercial products. The proposed method is fast, automated, and more sensitive than previous methods, making it useful for routine analysis of various pharmaceuticals.
