Finasteride nano-transferosomal gel formula for management of androgenetic alopecia: ex vivo investigational approach
July 2018
in “Drug Design Development and Therapy”
TLDR NTF gel improves finasteride delivery for hair loss treatment, reducing side effects.
The study aimed to improve the delivery of finasteride for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia by formulating it as a nano-transferosomal gel. The NTF gel formula showed improved delivery of FIN across skin layers and could be applied as an alternative to oral therapy, which can lead to undesirable systemic side effects. The study suggests that the NTF gel formula could be a promising treatment for androgenetic alopecia. The formula was found to enhance the permeation of finasteride through the skin and into the hair follicles, indicating its potential as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia.
