This case report describes the successful treatment of a large skin defect in an eight-month-old cat using bovine amniotic membrane (BAM) preserved in a propolis medium. The cat's wound, covering 12-15% of its body, showed significant improvement with BAM application, achieving complete epithelialization by Day 33 and full hair regrowth by Day 74. The study highlights BAM's effectiveness in promoting rapid wound healing due to its properties that enhance keratinocyte migration, angiogenesis, and inflammation modulation. Propolis served as a preservative, maintaining the membrane's integrity. The report concludes that BAM is a practical and cost-effective option for treating extensive wounds in small animals, though further studies are needed to confirm these findings.
