TLDR A 17-year-old girl and her brothers have a rare hair condition with long eyelashes, thick eyebrows, and easily pluckable hair.
A 17-year-old Indian girl presented with slow-growing, sparse, dry, and light-colored scalp hair, along with diffuse and excessive hair shedding since birth. She had abnormally long and curly eyelashes (18 mm centrally, 13 mm peripherally) and thick eyebrows with synophrys. Her two brothers also exhibited similar, though milder, symptoms. The family had a history of consanguineous marriage. The girl was diagnosed with loose anagen hair syndrome (LAHS), characterized by easily pluckable anagen hairs with misshapen bulbs and absent root sheaths. No systemic, dental, physical, or mental abnormalities were found. This case was notable for the rare association of familial trichomegaly with synophrys and LAHS.
