TLDR Exosomes from dermal papilla cells help hair stem cells grow through a specific signaling pathway.
This study demonstrates that exosomes derived from dermal papilla cells (DPC-Exos) can enhance the proliferation of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) through the Wnt3a/β-catenin signaling pathway. By using cell co-culture systems and manipulating the expression of Wnt3a, researchers found that DPC-ExosOE-Wnt3a upregulated the mRNA expression of downstream genes in the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, leading to increased HFSC proliferation and reduced apoptosis. These findings provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of hair growth and potential treatments for hair loss, as well as applications in the breeding of Angora rabbits.
