TLDR PRP injections are safe and effective for treating hair loss.
This prospective clinical trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for treating androgenetic alopecia in 5 patients. The study involved three PRP injections at 4-week intervals, with assessments at baseline, 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 3 months. Results showed significant improvements in hair follicle density and thickness, with hair density increasing to 38.6 ± 7.6 at 3 months. Patient satisfaction was high, averaging 8.2/10, and no major side effects were reported. The study concludes that PRP is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss, though larger studies are needed for further validation.
