TLDR Taking enzyme food and collagen together improves hair health in middle-aged women more than taking them separately.
The study investigated the effects of combined enzyme food and collagen intake on the scalp hair of 60 middle-aged women aged 40-60. Participants were divided into four groups: a control group, an enzyme food group, a collagen group, and a combined enzyme food and collagen group, with each group receiving their respective supplements twice daily for 12 weeks. Results showed that the combined intake group experienced significant improvements in hair density, thickness, tensile strength, and amino acid content compared to the control and single supplement groups. Additionally, hair absorbance and color properties improved more in the combined group. The study concluded that the combined intake of enzyme food and collagen was more effective in enhancing scalp hair health in middle-aged women than either supplement alone.
