TLDR Taking enzyme food and collagen together improves hair health in middle-aged women.
This study investigated the effects of combined enzyme food and collagen intake on the scalp hair of 60 middle-aged women, aged 40 to 60, over 12 weeks. Participants were divided into four groups: a control group, an enzyme food group, a collagen group, and a combined enzyme food and collagen group. Results showed that the combined intake group experienced significant improvements in hair metrics, including a 14.6% increase in the number of hairs per unit area and a 15.9% increase in hair thickness, compared to the control group, which saw decreases in these metrics. Additionally, the combined intake group showed significant reductions in hair absorbance and color changes, indicating better hair quality. The study concluded that the combined intake of enzyme food and collagen was more effective than either supplement alone in enhancing scalp hair health in middle-aged women.
