TLDR The mixed preparation helped hair regrowth but wasn't better than minoxidil.
The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a mixed preparation containing piperine, capsaicin, and curcumin in treating alopecia areata. Sixty patients were randomly divided into two groups: one treated with the mixed preparation twice daily and the other with 5% minoxidil once daily for 3 months. Both groups showed significant hair regrowth, with effective rates of 63.33% for the mixed preparation and 70% for minoxidil. The results indicated that while the mixed preparation is effective, it is not superior to minoxidil in short-term therapy. No serious adverse events were reported.
