TLDR Combining nanofat with FUE improves scar appearance and function better than FUE alone.
The study evaluates the efficacy of follicular unit excision (FUE) alone versus FUE combined with nanofat in treating scars in hairy areas. Nanofat is shown to reduce inflammation, stimulate angiogenesis, and improve collagen organization, which enhances scar characteristics such as vascularity, thickness, and pliability. Nanofat stem cells have immunomodulatory effects that suppress lymphocyte proliferation and inhibit proinflammatory cells, contributing to dermal fibrosis improvement. The study suggests that nanofat can remodel the extracellular matrix, promoting the proliferation and migration of dermal fibroblasts and epidermal keratinocytes, leading to significant improvements in scar appearance and function.
