Studysummary This study found that a hair lotion containing saw palmetto and 10% trichogen veg complex increased total hair count in male patients with androgenetic alopecia over four months, though observer assessments varied. Our plain-language summary of this paper — not a Tressless recommendation.
In a study conducted 8 years ago, 25 male patients with Androgenetic Alopecia were treated with topical Saw Palmetto and 10% Trichogen Veg Complex for four months. The treatment resulted in an 11.9% increase in total hair count and a 38% increase in the anagen/telogen hair ratio. Improvement was noted in 48% of the patients, while 36% saw no difference. The study concluded that these treatments were effective and safe, but suggested that larger, randomized controlled trials would provide more conclusive data.
