Predisposing and Overall Effects of Reproductive Hormones on Breast Cancer: A Review

This review discusses the complex and evolving understanding of cancer, particularly breast cancer, which is the most common cancer in women. Despite significant research efforts, the mechanisms of cancer cell genesis, metastasis, and recurrence remain elusive, complicating the development of effective treatments. The review highlights the role of reproductive hormones in breast cancer and the importance of animal models in studying the disease's etiology, behavior, pathology, and treatment responses. Integrating the multifaceted aspects of metastasis into experimental and computational models remains a significant challenge in advancing breast cancer research.
