TLDR Dutasteride 0.5mg improves hair growth in 78% of people with hair loss, but may cause sexual problems in some.
The study conducted on 50 patients with androgenic alopecia at Enam Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh, found that 78% of patients showed improvement in hair growth and density after 24 weeks of treatment with 0.5mg/day of dutasteride. However, 24% of patients experienced a decrease in libido and 14% experienced ejaculatory disorders. The study suggests that dutasteride can improve hair growth in patients with androgenic alopecia, but it may also cause sexual dysfunction. The study's limitations include a small sample size, short duration, and lack of diversity among participants, indicating the need for further research.
