Dissecting Cellulitis of the Scalp with Excellent Response to Isotretinoin

    TLDR Oral isotretinoin effectively treated the man's painful scalp condition and hair loss.
    An 18-year-old man with a 1-year history of painful scalp nodules and hair loss was diagnosed with dissecting cellulitis of the scalp. Physical examination showed multiple confluent, fluctuant, boggy nodules with alopecic patches. The patient was successfully treated with oral isotretinoin therapy, resulting in an excellent response.
