TLDR Hair follicle stem cells from Arbas Cashmere goats can become fat, nerve, and liver cells.
This study investigated the differentiation potential of primary and secondary hair follicle stem cells (PHFSCs and SHFSCs) from Arbas Cashmere goats. The researchers isolated and cultured these cells, confirming their high viability and proliferation rates. Both PHFSCs and SHFSCs demonstrated the ability to differentiate into adipocyte-like, neural-like, and hepatocyte-like cells, as evidenced by specific markers and gene expression. These findings suggest that HFSCs from Arbas Cashmere goats possess significant multipotent capabilities, making them promising candidates for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering applications.
