    Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) was highlighted as a valuable tool for studying the penetration and interaction of nanoparticles (NP) with skin. The study discussed the advantages of CLSM, such as detecting single nanoparticles and providing three-dimensional imaging, which were crucial for understanding NP localization in skin tissues. Various types of nanoparticles, including quantum dots, fullerene, and dendrimers, were examined under different skin conditions using CLSM. The research also emphasized the importance of using human epidermal keratinocytes and dendritic cells as in vitro models to study NP interactions with skin cells. Overall, CLSM showed great potential for advancing the understanding of nanomaterial interactions with skin.
