    Dendritic cells (DCs) are a type of immune cell that act as messengers between the innate and adaptive immune systems. They capture and process antigens, then present them on their surface to T-cells, initiating an immune response. This function is crucial for the body's ability to recognize and fight off pathogens, as well as for the development of immune memory.
