TLDR Evaluating various physical and health factors helps diagnose polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
The study concluded that evaluating clinical parameters such as age, BMI, waist-hip ratio, menstrual patterns, acanthosis nigricans, acne, hirsutism, and infertility significantly contributed to diagnosing polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). The study involved 50 women with PCOS and 50 controls, revealing that PCOS patients had higher BMI, waist-hip ratios, and prevalence of symptoms like oligomenorrhea (66%), hirsutism (64%), acne (30%), and concerns about infertility (16%) compared to controls. These findings supported the importance of a comprehensive clinical assessment in diagnosing PCOS.
