TLDR Christia vespertilionis extract may help fight breast cancer cells.
The study investigates the anticancer and antioxidant properties of the chloroform extract of Christia vespertilionis on breast cancer cell lines MCF7 and MDA-MB-231. The extract, containing flavonoids and saponin, demonstrated a concentration-dependent cytotoxic effect on these cells, although it was less potent than tamoxifen. The findings suggest C. vespertilionis as a potential natural therapeutic agent against breast cancer, highlighting the need for further research to understand its mechanisms and clinical applications. This study supports the exploration of herbal medicines as complementary therapies in cancer treatment.
