TLDR People with Alopecia areata have higher levels of certain T regulatory cells in their blood.
This study aimed to evaluate the levels of CD4+, CD39+, FOXP3+ T regulatory cells in 45 Iraqi patients with Alopecia areata (AA) compared to 45 healthy controls. The participants ranged in age from 5 to 59 years. The research found that the concentration of these cells was significantly higher in AA patients than in the healthy control group (P< 0.05). The study suggests that individuals with AA have elevated levels of these T regulatory cells in their blood.
