TLDR Bazi Bushen capsules reduce skin aging and damage from UV rays.
The study explores the effects of Bazi Bushen (BZBS) capsules on skin photoaging, emphasizing the KEAP1–NRF2 pathway. Experiments on mice showed that BZBS and β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) reduced UV-induced skin damage, promoted hair follicle growth, and decreased inflammation. BZBS enhanced NRF2 expression, reducing oxidative stress and aging signs. Key compounds, verbascoside and epimedin A, bind to KEAP1, preventing NRF2 degradation and alleviating oxidative senescence. The study highlights BZBS's potential as an anti-aging treatment by mitigating oxidative stress and inflammation, suggesting its promise in treating skin and hair conditions related to aging.
