Antiandrogenic therapy with ciproterone acetate in female patients who suffer from both androgenetic alopecia and acne vulgaris

The study evaluated the effectiveness of antiandrogenic therapy with ciproterone acetate in female patients with both androgenetic alopecia and acne vulgaris. The study included 35 female patients who were treated with Melleva 35 for three consecutive months. The results showed that the treatment was effective in improving both alopecia and acne lesions in the majority of patients. Hair regrowth was noticed in 77.2% of the patients, and improvements were seen in acne lesions and scars in 94.3% and 31.4% of the patients, respectively. The study suggests that ciproterone acetate may be a useful treatment option for female patients with both androgenetic alopecia and acne vulgaris.
