This study compared the efficacy and safety of different doses of dutasteride, finasteride, and placebo in treating male subjects with androgenetic alopecia. The results showed that dutasteride 0.5 mg was superior to finasteride and placebo in increasing hair count and width after 24 weeks of treatment. Both dutasteride and finasteride were well-tolerated, with similar tolerability data reported for both active treatments. The study concluded that dutasteride is an effective and safe treatment for male subjects with androgenetic alopecia.
