TLDR The 1927 nm fractional thulium laser effectively treats acne by targeting and improving affected skin areas.
The study explores the use of a 1927 nm fractional thulium laser (FTL) as a novel treatment for acne vulgaris. The laser targets the upper portion of affected follicles and sebaceous glands while preserving the stratum corneum, effectively damaging or destroying the acne-causing bacteria, Cutibacterium acnes. This process also induces follicular remodeling and tissue regeneration, leading to improvements in both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions.
