TLDR Right hand finger ratio may predict male hair loss.
This study investigated the relationship between the 2D:4D finger-length ratio and androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in males. The study found that the 2D:4D ratios were significantly lower in males with AGA for the right hand, but not for the left hand. The study supports the idea that prenatal androgen has a role in the pathogenesis of AGA. However, the study also found that other factors unrelated to 2D:4D could account for AGA severity. The study concludes that the right hand 2D:4D ratio may be a predictor of AGA development, and future studies with larger sample sizes will increase our knowledge of prenatal androgen exposure and its potential consequences for AGA patients.
