TLDR Sandalore® reduces hair shedding and increases hair volume in women with telogen effluvium.
The document detailed a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial involving 60 female volunteers with telogen effluvium to assess the efficacy of Sandalore®, a synthetic sandalwood-like odorant, in promoting hair growth. Participants were divided into two groups: one applying a 1% Sandalore solution and the other using a placebo with natural sandalwood oil. Over 24 weeks, Sandalore® significantly reduced hair shedding, increased hair volume, and raised the percentage of anagen hair follicles compared to the placebo, although hair thickness and density remained unchanged. Most effects were observed after 8 weeks and sustained through week 24. Participants using Sandalore® reported higher satisfaction with their hair appearance, supporting the potential of Sandalore® as an adjunct therapy for hair disorders characterized by excessive hair shedding.
